Five Minutes
Winter 2007
Over of the course of five consecutive days I sat on a couch for a total of 24 hours at the Malmö Art Academy in Sweden. A week earlier I had hung up posters soliciting my new peers for five minutes of their time so I could meet and photograph them.
There was no format for the interactions that took place and no conversations were recorded, however all were timed. One photograph was also taken as the person sat down across from me, and one more as they left.
Over five days I met and photographed 26 out of approximately 60 students total.
The average time people gave me was 15 minutes, 57 seconds.
